Our Torah study on Saturday morning is off to a wonderful start. Our next class will be February 18 at 11 am. This is due to 2 B'not Mitzvah and a Family Program for the next three weeks. (The rabbi is still perfecting trying to be at two places at once!) Make a plan to learn. See you on the 11th!

Simchat Shabbat! A New 6:30 PM Friday Evening Service
We heard you!
As part of our way of offering a Shabbat experience to younger families, we are offering a 6:30 pm service on March 17, April 21, May 26 and June 9. These services will be over by 7:30 (at which point, if you would like to say Kaddish but don’t want to be at the service so early, Rabbi Cy and Cantor Marnie will be there to lead it with you.) The services will be filled with the music you know and love and may use the new Mishkan Tefillah for Children or the regular Mishkan Tefillah.
Everyone is most welcome to these services; young, older, members of the community, people interested in the community and everyone in between!
Purim begins on the evening of March 11th. Temple Beth Miriam will continue the custom of fulfilling the Purim mitzvah of Misloach Manot, the tradition of giving friends and family yummy gifts to spread the joy of the holiday. The Purim baskets for temple members will remain the same at $4.00 each.
You will receive a letter of explanation; an order form; a two-sided list of temple members, staff, and teachers; and a list of those people you sent baskets to in 2016. Please indicate the names of people you wish to give Purim baskets to this year and send the order form and list back to the temple by February 6, 2017 with your full payment. You may donate your basket, give baskets to non-temple members ($15.00 each), and reciprocate with other temple members, as described in the letter.
You don’t want to miss out on being a part of this wonderful tradition and donating to the temple at the same time!
Thanking you in advance,
Wendy Sloter for the Purim Committee
Israel Visual Tefillah!
Rabbi Stanway is putting together another Visual Tefillah service and wants YOUR Israel trip pictures! It doesn't matter how old the pictures are, just put them on a thumb drive and bring them to the temple for inclusion into the next Visual Tefillah service on March 3.
