Appointment Requests

Appointments are for individuals who live within a one hour's drive from the distribution center in Roswell, GA. The distribution center is where families come to shop for FREE seasonal wardrobes for foster or relative children in their care. Clothing is like new, gently used and new. All underwear and sock are new. We don't distribute items that are in disrepair, stained or outdated. Infant equipment, toys, books, and age-appropriate teen items are also available. Free car seats are available relative care, grands raising grands and fictive kin that do not and will not have a DFCS case and per diem.  Families with a DFCS case or per diem can use the state car seat program that reimburses for one car seat per child through your caseworker and DFCS office.
Those living outside Metro Atlanta are also welcome to request appointments since large bas of toys and infant equipment cannot be mailed.

Click here for an appointment (this link will take you to the appointment request form on the services page our website). Please answer all of the required questions and click "Submit" at the end of the application form. The form allows for up to 6 children. If you have less than 6 children, once you have entered your own child's information, continue to the last page past other child applications until you reach the submit button.

Once you submit, you will see a confirmation appear letting you know that your request has been submitted.  If that confirmation does not appear, your form has not been submitted.

Once all information is received, as we process your request, we will email or call you with the appointment time and date. Appointments are offered in morning hours between 10:30 and 12:00 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays only. Once you receive your appointment notification, please follow the instructions on the email to have each child's caseworker contact us and verify placement.  You must have a verified appointment to be served. If in a private agency, please notify your agency caseworker to send us the Agency to Agency verification form.

Mail Order Requests

Mail orders are only for Georgia homes who are more than one hour’s drive away from the distribution center and can't make an appointment. Mail orders are filled by volunteers and include a seasonal wardrobe, a few small toys, books, and stuffed animals. For those in kindergarten and above, a backpack is included for the upcoming school year. Although we can accommodate your mail request, we encourage you to schedule an appointment so you can select your own items. Foster Care Support does not offer mail orders for counties in the metro-Atlanta area or outside the State of Georgia.

Click here for the Mail Out Request form. Please answer all of the required questions and click "Submit." at the end of the application form.  Please complete a separate mail order form for each child.

Please be patient during high volume times as we process thousands of requests at the beginning of each new season. Once you receive confirmation that your request was submitted please:.

Who Qualifies?

Free clothing, toys, and infant equipment are available to foster care children with only 'basic care per diem' or comparable SSI (up to $30/day, not counting sibling subsidy or diaper allotment ) in qualifying DFCS and private agency foster homes, relative care homes, Fictive Kin, grandparents raising grandchildren (without the biological parent also in the same home), teens who recently aged out of foster care, and foster children in college.

DFCS foster teens not in relative care aging out of foster care are eligible to access the distribution center for clothing for two years after exiting foster care once living on their own.

For children in DFCS or private agency foster homes,  when termination of parental rights (TPR) has occurred on both biological parents and the child is in their future adoptive placement, the child no longer qualifies for our services. This policy applies regardless of whether adoption papers have been signed. At this time, FCSF relinquishes the responsibility to provide for the child to the planned permanency family.  If the child is being adopted by a grandparent or other relative / fictive kin, the child may continue to receive services from Foster Care Support Foundation according to FCSF relative care eligibility policy.

Children placed with Relative Care/Fictive Kin caregivers are eligible for 4 seasons if receiving a per diem or comparable compensation. If receiving not per diem or SSI the child can be served until age 18 or graduation from high school.

Please Note. . .

Appointments and mail out requests will be provided on a “first requested, first scheduled” basis unless the child is a new intake to the home. We process new intakes as a priority.  Spring/Summer distributions are available from April through mid-September. Fall/Winter distributions are available from mid-September through March.

Only new intake children are eligible to come during September and March while we transition for the upcoming season. New intake children will receive the ending season's clothing to get them started until the new season is set up. They will resubmit to return for the new season.

If your child is placed with you from another placement, please call us.

Forms with missing information will result in a processing delay. Please help us serve you quickly by filling in all information.

If you have already sent in your request for your foster child for this season, PLEASE DO NOT RESUBMIT unless you have an infant needing the next size clothing (resize) or you have received a new child.
