Our holiday fund drive is in full swing! Thanks to the generosity of donors, so far we have reached $43,000 of our fundraising goal of $50,000 in honor of our 50th anniversary.

Did you know that your gift to the Art Therapy Studio directly supports individuals seeking art therapy to cope with cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges? Gifts received during our holiday fund drive go toward our Discover the Artist Within You community program (DTA). These donations allow us to keep course fees low and offer scholarships to participants in need. Without the support of donors, the cost of participant fees would be significantly higher.

At the Art Therapy Studio we finished our 50th anniversary year by giving back to the communities that we serve. In partnership with volunteers, clients, and members of the Buckeye Art Therapy Association (BATA), we created 50 fleece tie blankets to be distributed to individuals in need at three area organizations.

Throughout December we delivered the blankets at Hitchcock Center for Women, Family & Community Services' Veteran's Haven, and Life Exchange Center. At each of these sites our art therapists work with people who are facing a variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.

At our Fairhill studio the start of a new year means a fresh new art show in the Streeter Gallery. The winter 2018 show, entitled Added Dimensions, will be on display from January 9 to March 31, 2018. In celebration of the show, you are invited to join us for an opening reception on Saturday, January 20 from 3-5pm at our Fairhill Studio.

Added Dimensions will feature a variety of mixed media pieces created by participants in our Discover the Artist Within You program (DTA). This show is especially unique because it is being curated and hung by DTA participants in our Freestyle Fridays art therapy group.

Please RSVP for the opening reception by calling our office at 216-791-9303 or emailing If you are unable to attend the opening, please stop by anytime during business hours to see the show.

We are pleased to announce that Art Therapy Thursdays at SPACES will continue into 2018. The community art therapy program was launched in 2017 as a partnership with the gallery. The location and affordable price point have successfully introduced the benefits of art therapy to new audiences month after month.

Art Therapy Thursdays will continue on the first Thursday of every month at SPACES Gallery on Detroit Avenue. The cost for the 90 minute art therapy session will be $15 per person. Individuals can register for individual classes or for multiple classes. Participants will experience a wide variety of art therapy projects focusing on different media and techniques.
